Devadāru
Botanical name: Cedrus deodara
Also known as: Himalayan Cedar, “the wood of the gods”
Devadāru grows in the high forests of the Himalayas and is one of the sacred botanicals infused into our oil. Its grounding, steadying presence is especially noticeable in The Beloved.
Physical uses & benefits :
Traditionally considered warming, penetrating, and grounding
Used where there is heaviness or stagnation
Naturally occurring compounds studied for anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, and analgesic activity
Spiritual benefits :
Cedar has long been used to purify sacred spaces. Its deep, resinous scent is believed to settle the mind and create a clear atmosphere for inward attention. As “the wood of the gods,” Devadāru carries the symbolism of the mountains, offering steadiness, protection, and connection to the divine.
